Berganza – 2D ring virtual try-on
Berganza, home to one of the largest collections of ancient, antique and vintage jewellery in the world, noticed a shift in the industry towards using AR solutions for online shoppers. As such, they wanted to be ahead of the curve by being first in market.
Selling big ticket items, Berganza wanted to add a layer of customer experience and allow clients to narrow down their choices on the website due to the sheer volume (around 2,000) of rings available in their catalogue.
The solution we produced was a 2D ring virtual try-on experience that’s currently embedded into Berganza’s website.
Upon visiting the product page of a ring they are interested in, ecommerce users now have the option to virtually try it on before they buy by clicking the call-to-action (CTA) button “View on hand”.
Users are then prompted to take a picture of their hand with the back-facing camera of their mobile phone before having the chance to position and resize a 2D ring on the captured still image.
Whilst 3D ring try-on solutions were also possible, Berganza understood that 2D ring try-on was a necessary first step going into new territory and will be moving onto 3D in future.
AR allows our clients to experience our vast collection of rings from wherever they may be based, and with an increasingly global clientele, we’re thrilled to have found Poplar Studio, who have been able to make our vision become a reality. Adopting modern technology gives, opportunity to bring our incredible collection to a wider audience through AR.
