Rentbrella – AR umbrella sharing machines
The challenge
We recently partnered with umbrella-sharing startup Rentbrella to produce and launch 3D and AR visualisations of their umbrella sharing machines.
Before working with Poplar Studio, the process of finding suitable properties to place their umbrella sharing machines was long and laborious. Rentbrella’s sales teams had to visit landlords and property managers, take multiple photos of their property and then send them to the Marketing team. Once the best photos had been subjectively selected, a composite image would then be created, a process of around 1 to 2 hours per location.
Using 3D and AR, Rentbrella hoped to make this process less costly and time-consuming.
Our approach
We developed a web-based solution that allows Rentbrella sales agents to virtually place their umbrella sharing machines with AR on-location. This enables agents to show landlords how the units will look in their properties, in real-size and with realistic lighting, without the need to physically carry the unit with them.
The outcome
Our solution is helping speed up Rentbrella’s expansion to 100 stands across London in commercial and residential buildings, stations and shopping centres, among others.
Rentbrella has already saved the company around 200 hours so far and is expected to save the sales teams more than 2,000 hours in the entire process by 2022.
The solution ins open to plenty of potential future applications too, such as integrating it in the Rentbrella website so that property managers can access it instead of relying on sales agents.
