Orendt Studios – Furniture visualisation
The challenge
Orendt Studios, a creative content production company, was looking for a solution to help their retail clients to provide a furniture visualisation tool for their customers. The experience needed to empower customers not only to view furniture in their home environment, but also see if it would physically fit, as well as shop the furniture as part of the same ecommerce process.
Our approach
We worked in partnership with Orendt to create one of the world’s first WebAR visualisation tools. The tool allows users to virtually place the furniture in their homes and to check their look and functionality, change the colour, and see whether it physically fits.
The tool includes an interactive element, enabling users to tap around to see different features of the furniture, for example what a sofa-bed will look like when it’s laid out. This triggers animations, giving the user a much better representation of the features.
Finally, users were able to take photos of the virtual furniture in their environment to share with others, as well as click on a shopping button to complete the purchase.
The furniture visualisation tool was deployed in the web browser, making it a highly accessible AR experience, where the only tools required to access it are a mobile device with a web browser. No need to download any mobile apps.
