RLab Accelerator, the New York City-based accelerator focusing on Extended Reality (XR) and spatial computing, yesterday announced its selection of six startups for its inaugural RLab Accelerator cohort, including Poplar Studio. The accelerator, in collaboration with venture capital firm Super Ventures, reviewed more than 100 applications from startups across 16 countries before arriving at the decision.
Here at Poplar Studio we are thrilled to be starting this journey with RLab and Super Ventures, which will encompass a 3-month residency in their Brooklyn Navy Yard offices and include access to events, education programs, investor introductions, partners and researchers from RLab’s network.
“It is a true honor to have been selected by Ori Inbar of Super Ventures and AWE, one of the pioneers and an active investor in the augmented reality field” said David Ripert, CEO of Poplar Studio. “We are very excited to be joining the RLab, a one of a kind AR and VR accelerator, built by industry professionals in partnership with the Mayor of NYC and the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. The accelerator and investment will enable Poplar Studio to expand its reach into the US market, one of the largest for AR, as well as launch its fully automated AR campaigns on-demand platform.”
All six startups will also be exhibiting at the upcoming AWE EU conference in Munich on October 17-18, 2019. AWE is the largest XR event in the world, co-founded by Ori Inbar, who is also the founder of Super Ventures.
